That would help. OHcorgis 13 years ago. The fur on double coated breeds actually helps to keep them cool in the summer. The advice to brush weekly is the best. UsherGM 13 years ago. I ran into a woman in New Orleans who had shaved her Corgi. It had been over a year and the hair never grew back correctly, honestly, it was the ugliest Corgi I have ever seen, I felt so bad for it I agree with CharmDar I was concerned when my Corgi almost fainted from the summer heat.

Best advice is to brush her coat daily. My Corgi shed clumps when the weather warmed up. Keep her well hydrated and bring water for her on trips.

Offer shade if you keep her outside for an extended period and on long walks. Shaving her would only expose her to UV rays and she could get skin lesions from excess exposure. My Corgi's skin was very sensitive as he got older and I had to switch his diet to a sensitive skin and stomach diet.
